Jotkin is a gift coordination app built for families. We take privacy seriously — especially because some of the information in Jotkin (like birthdays) is personal. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what we don't do with it.
Your name
When you first open Jotkin, we pull your name from your iCloud account to set up your card. You can edit it at any time. Names are also entered voluntarily when claiming a gift item — we store whatever name you type.
Birthday
You can optionally add a birthday to any card. We use this to power birthday reminders and know when to ask for updates on clothing sizes. Birthdays are stored securely in iCloud and are only visible to people you choose to share your card with.
Photos
You can add photos to wishlist items. These are stored in iCloud and shared only with people who have access to the card.
A user identifier
We generate a stable identifier tied to your iCloud account. This is used to keep your cards and data consistent across your devices. It is never shared with advertisers or third parties.
Crash and performance data
We use a service called Sentry to help us find and fix issues with the app by collecting anonymous crash reports and performance data. Sentry is configured to strip personally identifiable information — we do not send your name, birthday, or any user-entered content to Sentry.

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell your data. We do not share your data with data brokers. We never have and never will.
Jotkin stores your data in Apple's CloudKit infrastructure. Apple's privacy policy governs how CloudKit handles your data. Your cards and wishlist items live in your iCloud account — Jotkin accesses them, but they belong to you.
When you share a card, the people you share with can see the card's name, wishlist items, clothing sizes, and interests. They cannot see private notes you've written. The person whose card it is never sees who has claimed what — that's the point, no spoilers. Other viewers can see claimed items.
Sharing is opt-in and controlled by you. You can revoke access at any time from within the app.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Settings screen in the app. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Jotkin is intended for users 13 and older, in line with Apple's App Store guidelines. If you're a parent setting up cards for your children, you're in the right place — the app is designed with families in mind.
If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top and let you know what changed and why. Our commitment to not selling or sharing your data for advertising doesn't change — ever. Jotkin exists to help you take care of the people you love, not to monetize your information.
